Privacy Policy — glhf-chess
Last updated: 24 September 2026
glhf-chess is a chess game made by kwakd. This policy explains what the game collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to match what the game actually does.
- The game does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location.
- It gives you an anonymous player number so your progress can be saved.
- If you watch an optional ad, Unity Ads receives advertising data from your device. You choose whether those ads are personalised, and can change that choice at any time.
- You can delete your account and everything stored with it from inside the game.
What the game collects
A player ID
When you first play, the game creates an anonymous player ID through Unity Authentication. It is a random identifier. It is not your name and it is not linked to you personally.
If you choose to sign in with a Unity Player Account, your progress is tied to that account instead, so it follows you to other devices. Unity handles that sign-in — the game never receives your email address or password.
Your game progress
Saved on your device and, once you have a player ID, in Unity Cloud Save:
- your Shards balance
- which units, skins and board themes you own
- your loadout and the skins and board you have equipped
- counters for pull guarantees and daily rewards
That is all game state. It contains nothing personal.
Advertising data (only if you watch an ad)
The “Support the game” button plays an optional rewarded ad through Unity Ads. Unity Ads receives your device's advertising identifier, device and network information including your IP address, and whether you watched the ad.
The first time you play on a phone, the game asks whether ads may be personalised:
- Allow personalised ads — Unity Ads may use your advertising ID to tailor ads.
- No thanks — the game tells Unity Ads to serve non-personalised ads. Some data is still processed to deliver an ad, cap how often you see it, and prevent fraud.
You can change this at any time under Settings. You never have to watch an ad. It is entirely optional and nothing in the game is gated behind it.
Online match data
When you play online, the game uses Unity's relay and lobby services to connect you to your opponent. That involves your IP address (to route the connection) and a session identifier. Your moves and your loadout are sent to your opponent so you can both see the same board.
Basic engine diagnostics
Unity collects basic runtime information about the engine. The game's own analytics and crash reporting are switched off.
What the game does not collect
No name, email address, phone number, postal address, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access, and no payment information. There are no in-app purchases. The game has no analytics or crash reporting enabled, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.
Who your data is shared with
Unity Technologies, which provides the services above: Authentication, Cloud Save, the multiplayer relay and lobby, and Unity Ads. Unity processes this data as described in the Unity Privacy Policy.
If you allow personalised ads, Unity Ads may share advertising identifiers with its advertising partners.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else.
Your choices
- Play anonymously. You never have to create an account.
- Turn personalised ads on or off, any time, under Settings.
- Delete everything. In the game: Account → Delete account. This removes your cloud-saved progress and your account. It cannot be undone.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's own settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- Uninstall. Removing the game removes the save file on your device. Cloud-saved progress is removed by deleting your account, not by uninstalling.
If you are in the UK, EU, or a place with similar laws, you have rights to access, correct, export or erase your data. The in-game delete covers erasure; for anything else, use the contact address below.
How long it is kept
Your progress is kept while your account exists, so it is there when you come back. Deleting your account removes it. Advertising data is kept by Unity under their own retention rules.
Children
glhf-chess is intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and the game does not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through this game, contact us at the address below and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the current version is always at this address.
